Anticipating

My books have been shipped. I am exhilarated. I can't wait to read all of them. It has been a while since my last book mail.

Last month, I read a short story called To Room Nineteen by Doris Lessing, which is about a married woman who wanted to have a room where she could stay and be with her own thoughts and have her "freedom". Her life seemed ideal to many but her. Despite "having it all," she still felt a void that neither her family nor status could fill in.

It somehow reminded me of Virginia Woolf's A Room of One's Own, which I read 8 years ago. A brilliant work.
